AraratBank Presents its Gender-Smart Finance Experience at the WEPs Regional Workshop
AraratBank participated in the regional workshop "Gender-Smart Finance: Concepts, Tools, and Impact," held in Tbilisi under the framework of the UN Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs).
During the workshop, the Bank presented its experience in gender-smart finance, highlighting its initiatives aimed at promoting women's economic empowerment.
The event brought together representatives of around 30 organizations that have joined the WEPs initiative, including banks, microfinance institutions, consulting firms, and stock exchanges.
Participants discussed financing programs for women entrepreneurs, international best practices in gender-smart and sustainable finance, opportunities for cooperation among financial institutions, and practical tools to expand women's access to finance.
Since joining the WEPs initiative in 2022, AraratBank has consistently implemented initiatives that promote women's economic empowerment, reinforcing its commitment to gender equality, inclusion, and responsible business practices. One such initiative is the Bank's video series showcasing the success stories of its women entrepreneurs.
AraratBank was represented at the workshop by Anna Atovmyan, Advisor to the Deputy CEO on Sustainable Financial Development.
"The success stories of the Bank’s female entrepreneurs best demonstrate the real impact of these principles. The workshop provided an important platform for exchanging experience and engaging in professional dialogue with international partners. The knowledge and best practices gained will be incorporated into our future work as we continue to enhance the Bank's products and solutions for female customers," said Anna Atovmyan.
