Be aware of fraud

When making an international SWIFT transfer, it is necessary to remain vigilant.

If you receive a message from a partner stating that their company’s banking details have changed, or if a new partner provides banking details where the bank is located in a different country (for example, the partner’s address and the bank’s address are in significantly different countries), before making the transfer it is necessary to:

  • Re-check the details with the partner

  • Clarify whether the partner’s bank is located in a different country from the partner

  • Contact the partner through another communication channel (phone)

  • Make sure that the email was sent from an official email address

Fraudsters often use fake emails and altered account details.
